What is EurEta?


The European Higher Engineering and Technical Professionals Association (EurEta) is the leading organisation in Europe for higher engineering and technical professionals belonging to the level D of the EU 2005/36 Directive on professional qualifications (level 6 of EQF). There shall be in the future an option to add separate Registers for other levels.

EurEta is a non-profit, non-political organisation established in Switzerland since 1993 to set formation standards for higher engineering and technical professionals across Europe, to represent these professionals and their official national organisations at European and worldwide forums and to keep a European Register.

Full membership is open to registered or regulated organisations and public bodies comprising and representing engineering professionals recognised at Level D in the pertinent EU Directive.

Members in Development are also welcome in EurEta. They are registered or regulated organisations and public bodies representing engineering professionals who are not yet in a position to fulfil all the obligations of a Full Member.

Anyone wishing to support the international active vocation and work of EurEta can apply to be its Supporting member.

YOUR TITLE IN EUROPE

An engineer registered with EurEta is called a

EurEta Registered Engineer

and has the right to use the title

To be registered as an Engineer with EurEta a candidate must satisfy the following minimum formation requirements:
D+1TR+2EX *(Directive EC/2006/35, art. 11, point d)
where:
D: A diploma, according to the terminology of the EU 2005/36 Directive.
TR: A year of accredited technical engineering training undertaken as part of a programme of professional development.
EX: A year of attested relevant and responsible engineering experience assessed and approved by an official body.
The minimum age for registration on the EurEta Register is 24 years.

*A diploma certifying successful completion of training at post-secondary level of at least three and not more than four years' duration, or of an equivalent duration on a parttime basis, at a university or establishment of higher education or another establishment providing the same level of training, as well as the professional training which may be required in addition to that post-secondary course. (article 11, point d of the Directive EC/2006/35)
